snoo

Yep, still snowing. And I wonder where it's all going, since we seem to be holding steady at a quarter of an inch of accumulation since yesterday morning.

Anyway, I went off to the library and did what research I needed to do, so now it's all fine-tuning and parallel text-hunting and analysis-writing. (Thanks to the American educational system, writing a first-person analysis makes me twitch. It's been thoroughly pounded through my head that Thou Shalt Not Use "I" In Formal Writing. But if I'm justifying my translation, I don't have any choice about it.)

I've outsmarted myself again; I didn't do much by way of grocery shopping last week because I had things I wanted to use up, so now I'm mostly out of food, and I have to go grocery shopping this week even though I'm leaving for three weeks on Friday afternoon. Maybe it's time for the "order pizza and live on leftovers for a while" trick. It's certainly not like I'm going to starve while I'm away.

nature's own refrigerator

Given that it's pouring snow out, I decided that the quickest way to cool down a quart of mint tea is to leave it on the doorstep until the pizza guy gets here (which, given that it's pouring snow out, might be a while. I live within walking distance of the pizza place, but if I went to get the pizza myself, it would be cold by the time I got back). Since I'm waiting for the pizza guy to get here, I might not forget about the tea entirely.
