I need a weekend to recover from my weekend. Saturday involved MASSIVE amounts of running around. I left home at 9:45 AM, dropped off stuff at home at 2:50 PM and then came home again for good at 6:30 PM. (Apple store to recycle and replace dead iPod, Eddie Bauer outlet for shirts, DSW to look at boots, Coolidge Corner for haircut, home for ten minutes to drop off shirts, voice lesson, Best Buy for case for new iPod, grocery store). Then I spent the rest of the night putting things on the new iPod, including iOS 6. Apparently if I put iOS 6 on my phone and then needed a map, I'd be sorry. But for the iPod, which doesn't talk to the internet unless I'm desperate, it's fine.
On Sunday morning I left home at 10:00, because I was trying to get to Penzey's in Arlington Heights at noon. On a Sunday, in the rain, who knows what the buses will be doing? So of course everything worked out splendidly and I got to Harvard Square in half an hour. That was nice, because I got to spend some time drinking coffee and staying out of the rain before I went traipsing off to the 77 bus. Silliness ensued, involving Penzey's and the annual consumption of hot cider donuts at Wilson Farms and the annual overindulgence in vegetables, and a semiannual overindulgence in barbecued pork ribs from Blue Ribbon. I now have massive amounts of food in the house, which is not a horrible thing because most of it is vegetables. It will be a horrible thing by Thursday if I haven't done something with some of them, though.
Of course, what I didn't do this weekend was buy any more kitty litter. That always requires its own trip, and I completely forgot about it on Sunday. Another item for The List, I guess (along with seeing if I can get the grout footprints off the bathroom floor and the UnFloor remnants off the hallway).
