HA

Today being September 1, traffic sucked. It sucked so much that getting to Coolidge Corner this afternoon took an hour, and getting back was even worse. Getting back, I stood in Coolidge Corner for an hour waiting for the bus. When it arrived, there was no way in hell I would have fit on it with two bags of groceries. So, silly (and stubborn) person that I am, I started walking.

It took the bus three stops to catch up with me, and then it stayed two stops ahead of me until Brigham Circle, when I got two stops ahead of it. Due to traffic lights and the fact that nobody got off at the stop before Roxbury Crossing, I was 20 feet behind the bus when it left Roxbury Crossing. I only lost sight of it twice when it was ahead of me; once between Brookline Village and the J-Way, and once between Huntington Ave and Brigham Circle. All in all, it really wasn't any slower to walk than it would have been to take the bus.

Not bad for a 30-year-old woman who's 30 pounds overweight, huh?
