deep thoughts postponed till tomorrow
I'm back, although later than I thought I would be, because it didn't work out the way I thought it would. My name is probably on a government watch list now, because I had to change my train tickets in both directions for this trip, right before I got on the trains. Anyway, I'm back.
I spent probably an hour and a half this morning in a furniture store in Waterford, providing occasional second opinions on new sofas. My parents have decided that the two sofas currently in the living room have both got to go; one is too deep to sit in comfortably and has a broken leg besides, and the other is both uncomfortable (too hard, and upholstered in something unpleasant) and pink. (I want the down cushions from the deep one, though.) What they ended up buying was a leather sofa and matching loveseat. I never thought I'd see the day when my parents bought a leather sofa. It didn't seem like something they'd like, but they said that now that they can afford to buy decent furniture, they're doing it.
I think I'm going to bed. The next time my parents buy furniture, I should suggest replacing the guest-bed mattress.
