I feel old today. Not old as compared to the average high school or college student (but they do keep getting younger), but old as in beat up, worn out, doesn't function quite so well any more. I wish I could've stayed home today.
I think I really need it to be next Wednesday so I can go have somebody else take care of me for a couple of days. I'm doing a piss-poor job of taking care of myself lately. I cringe at the thought of what I've been eating.
Unfortunately, between now and next Wednesday, there's a committee meeting, SOP packet day (tomorrow, only three days late...) and the SOP meeting (Tuesday, with food and parking and agenda to be arranged this week). We were given Wednesday afternoon off, which is nice, but I hope I can survive that long.
In cheerier news, I came home last night (late, because of a committee meeting that started at 6:00, for which I had to provide dinner) and found a very large box on the porch, containing a short cat tree. This is good because now Lily has something to sharpen her claws on that isn't the leg of my desk, or my DVD collection. I did laugh when she got a claw stuck in the case for The Hunt for Red October and pulled it down on her head, but I'd rather she sharpened her claws on things designed for the purpose. All I have to do is convince her that the cat tree isn't scary, because I made a lot of unfamiliar noise coming up the stairs with the box, and another lot of unfamiliar noise getting the contents out of the box. Silly beast. (But cute.)
