bah, humbug

It seems to me that these days, the amount of snow we get is generally inversely proportional to the amount of hype, panic, and school closings that happen before the snow gets here. If the pattern holds, we're going to get about six flakes tomorrow.

However, even if we get six feet rather than six flakes of snow, I still have to come to work tomorrow. We only close if there's a declared state of emergency, and the panic level isn't quite there yet. (Besides, whoever heard of declaring a preemptive state of emergency?)

Unfortunately there's a difference between "snow emergency" and "state of emergency". I only get the day off for the latter.

That is a big pile of suck. There ought to be a law.
