Book #27: The Janissary Tree
Book #28: Asleep: The Forgotten Epidemic...
Book #29: The Bellini Card
Part of the reason I went overboard with the herbs yesterday is because I'm trying to wean myself off putting cheese on pasta, because I put entirely too much cheese on pasta. Herbs have to be better for me than that. I'm also trying to eat more vegetables than anything else, so for dinner tonight I had a large bowl of sliced cucumbers and tomatoes with balsamic vinegar, a small bowl of spaghetti with herbs and olive oil, and a handful of cashews. I really wanted almonds instead of cashews, but I'm out of almonds.
I spent various bits of today being useful, in that I now have clean socks and clean shirts and my winter jacket is hanging to dry (and I remembered to take the lip balm out of the pocket before I washed it!), and I managed to clip three of Snip's left front claws. She still detests having her feet interfered with, but I'm persistent and I had cheese, and she'll do almost anything for provolone.
P&R on Tuesday, and then I can start thinking about packing to go on vacation. I don't even have to worry too much about vacation screwing up the schedule for paying off the student loan, because the difference between what I took out of the pay-off-the-loan fund to pay for the vacation and what I put back in this month after I paid the bills was only $62. That makes me a very happy camper. I just might get the damn loan paid off when I want to, after all.
