It has been, and persists in being, a very long week. Last night I was at work until 8:00, because we were hosting a New England Network on Faculty Affairs meeting. At least I got dinner out of it, and met some people. (One of whom is where we were two years ago: understaffed and drowning in paper. We sympathized.)
Next Tuesday being the last P&R meeting until September, EVERYBODY wants to be on the agenda. Up to and including a case that arrived in the office on Monday. This is severely inconvenient, but we did it anyway. And we're still getting complained at because somebody somewhere told the department that we'd had the file for a couple of months. Everybody who's not calling about that is calling about the April agenda, which we haven't had the final approval from the Provost for. (Apparently we're not expecting it until about mid-July. Oh boy.)
From the looks of the weather forecast, this will be an excellent weekend for hibernating and doing laundry. I definitely need to do laundry, and could use some more sleep. Sounds like a plan to me. I think today might call for high-octane coffee.
Just so I have it written down, the next time I do a Watertown excursion, the mushroom and kasseri pies from Sevan Bakery are really good cold. I expect they're also really good warm.
I bit my tongue in my sleep last night. I expect I did it when I was dreaming about being hit on the side of the face with something. (Not sure whether it was pizza dough or cold cuts, but whatever it was, it was food. The dream was going on in a grocery store.) In any case, I wish I hadn't bitten my tongue at all, because it hurts.
