I've had really long complicated dreams for the last two nights, and I'm not sure where my brain is getting some of this stuff.

Two nights ago, I dreamed that the Office for Dental Education was trying to reorganize an Ocean Job Lot. We discovered a bunch of chest freezers full of ice cream sandwiches, and one that seemed to be full of bags of wood stove pellets (although somebody was insisting it was fiberglass insulation). Anyway, in those bags there were a bunch of ski-hat-type pompoms. Eventually we figured out that they were rearview mirror ornaments, and they belonged to a serial killer. Every time he made too much of a mess in his car, he would take the ornament out, store it in the freezer, and dispose of the car. Then he'd get a new car and a new ornament. He showed up at the end of the dream to stash his latest one, and was angry that we wouldn't take it or the Volvo he was trying to get rid of.

Last night I dreamed that I had to marry [livejournal.com profile] mangosteen in order to keep Leonard Bernstein from being deported. But the synagogue only had one set of very complicated candles, and they were so complicated that they wouldn't light, so we couldn't get married and the wedding turned into a road trip. I know that we were in Noank, where we met somebody I went to high school with (standing on the hood of a violently orange car that was mostly submerged in Beebe Cove), and somewhere I've never been in Ohio, where we met somebody I went to college with (standing on a pile of rocks and wearing a very highly patterned black brocade dress). The car I was traveling in was about the size of a Smart car and the entire interior, including the seat belts, was made of cork flooring.

I know where the Jewish bit came from (I've been reading WWII history again lately), but I haven't a clue where the rest of it came from. Whatever my subconscious is chewing on, I wish it would figure it out.
