Body is awake, but brain ain't havin' any. The fact that it looks like it's going to pour buckets any minute now (even though it's not supposed to) isn't encouraging the brain. At least it's warm out.
The retreat went well, which is gratifying, but it went on a Tuesday, which means it's going to be a long week. I might take Friday as a mental recovery day. Especially since today is HRC rehearsal night, and that means there's no mental recovery to be had until tomorrow at the earliest. In August I printed blank calendar pages for August, September and October, and the next ten days of October are blank. That means there's nothing out of the ordinary going on until at least November. Thank goodness. (No more medical appointments, sectional rehearsals, major work events, EC meetings, tutor calibrations, supply orders for major work events, etc.) My desk is down to two and a half piles of stuff I have to keep an eye on, and one of them is mostly a book.
Shoulders continue to be mobile, which is nine points of the law. When I get overtired, they grumble, but that I can live with. Come to think of it, I haven't tried lying down with my hands behind my head and putting my elbows on the floor lately. Before the cortisone, no way, no chance, nohow. Probably still not possible, but maybe differently so.
My leather messenger bag is dying, because I didn't take adequate care of it. Shame on me. But now I'm looking (again) for a messenger bag that's at least water resistant and tough enough to last at least a couple of years, and doesn't cost $600. (Saddleback Leather will get my business when I win the lottery.)
