I made good on my threat to have somebody look in my ear on Monday afternoon, and he did, and said I had swimmer's ear. So I've been putting antibiotic drops in it four times a day since Tuesday (it only got two doses on Monday: dinnertime and bedtime). Since I was told to keep my head above water for five days and use drops for seven, I'm doing session 6 on Monday instead of 6 and 7 on Sunday. But the school knows I want to do the open water dives on Oct 20 & 21, because in the process of not diving last Sunday, I told them that. It won't be a problem as long as my ear behaves itself reasonably well.

I have no morale at all this week, and I had even less last night when the chorus committee meeting started at 9:15 with a 10-item agenda. Which, of course, we didn't get through by 10:00, so we have to do it again next week. I was absolutely ripshit when I got home last night and was still annoyed when I got up this morning, so I wrote a very detailed letter of resignation to make myself feel better, and will write a socially acceptable one tomorrow, resigning as of October 29, so I'll have time to type up the October 24 meeting minutes. I want to show up and pay dues and sing and go away again. I've been taking minutes for four years now and I've had enough.

Mom called this evening to find out if I had a cookie press, and if not, did I want one. No, and yes. So I'll maybe end up with a cookie press before Christmas, which means I can make spritz cookies. It doesn't have to be Christmas for spritz cookies, but they're not the sort of thing I should make a habit of. And then she had to call back to be sure I was aware of the kayaker who got an octopus in the face, flung at him by a seal, because it's an extremely Walt Kelly idea. I had been aware of it, but she hadn't thought to tell my uncle who is also a major Pogo fan and will get the gist immediately. So hopefully that will spread sunshine around the place.

The entire preceding paragraph is composed of awesome.
