Today it's warm and intermittently raining. Fortunately it cleared up for long enough to let me hike down to the public library and return the books I got out last week (technically I had them until next Wednesday, but I was done with them by today).
The Kent Free Library is in definite need of more space. It's going to get it eventually, due to the bond issue that passed in November, but right now it's only got shelf space for half of its collection. Therefore, it's got things like volume 2 of a trilogy, but not volumes 1 or 3. They may be in storage, but they aren't available. For the most part, the collection in general can be described as "random". I hope it gets less so when they can shelve all of their books. Of course, I won't be around to see that, but for the sake of the permanent residents, I hope it works out. The Oberlin Public Library saved my sanity when I was an undergrad; the Kent Free Library may save my sanity this summer. I don't have time to read much of anything non-academic during the school year.
Possibly as a result of the weather combined with the grocery shopping expedition yesterday, my shoulders hurt.
The universe had a good laugh at me yesterday. I got a package in the mail that was in a box small enough for the mailman to put it in my mailbox from the back, but not small enough to fit out the front. My mailbox is one of those outdoor lockbox things that some housing complexes have; there's one set at one end of the complex and another down at the other end. There's an overhang on the front end between the bottom row of mailboxes (which is where mine is) and the row above it, and the package fit into my mailbox because there's no overhang on the back end. I wound up bringing out scissors and cutting two of the corners off the box so I could squash it enough to get it out. Fortunately that didn't harm the contents. I wonder if I shouldn't leave a note for the mailman about that? I bet he doesn't care.
I wonder what I feel like having for dinner?

and despite the IQ tests, they are stupid.
you've heard me rant about the assholes here in arlington that have the brains of a moneky. they leave BANK MAIL propped up outside the boxes if they don't know whose it is. They also lost a big package of mine, whiich got stolen by some random asshole. I should have tried to get the carrier fired, but I forgot to call and complain. I hope something very nasty happens to him, soon.
*sympathy*
*hug*
call the office. get the bastard fired. he deserves it.
