I gave blood again today, and yet again something didn't go normally.

Last time I had a fainting spell after I was done. This time I was sitting there minding my own business and drinking my orange juice, and I happened to look down at my arm and discovered I had bled right through the gauze and was in the process of bleeding through the adhesive tape, so I soaked up what I could with a wad of paper napkins and put pressure on it and the nurse put another piece of gauze on. That's the first time I've ever bled that much afterward. I suppose it's positive proof that I don't mind seeing my own blood, although I still don't like watching people stick me with needles of any description. My father makes doctors nervous, because he watches them give him stitches.

Tomorrow morning there's going to be the annual fire extinguisher inspection. It took me three tries to remember where mine was (not under the kitchen sink, not in the kitchen cabinets, in the coat closet. And no, I didn't put it there; it was there when I moved in.) I suppose the fact that I didn't remember where it was is good, in that I haven't had to use it. I think I should maybe put it under the sink so it'll be in the first place I look for it if I ever need it. Until tomorrow, though, it lives on my front stoop, so they don't have to come in here and look for it.

I have $3 in cash until (probably) Sunday, and I'm resisting the urge to go buy a milkshake with it.

Sounds like your dad and I would get along fine. I had a great time watching them sew up Ajax's arm, and if most of my stitches hadn't been in my own head, I would have been watching those more closely as well. :)
