I hate Christmas songs. I like Christmas carols. (Yes, there’s a difference.)

Decaf, if I remember to make it. Otherwise, mint tea when I get to work.

Not lately. (Shame on me.)

11. Are you vegan?
I like meat. And eggs. And cheese. And honey. So, no.

12. Do you like painkillers?
Once a month, I like Aleve.

13. What is your secret weapon to lure in the opposite sex/potential lovers?
Damned if I know. Whatever it is, apparently it’s on the fritz.

One chef’s knife, two paring knives, and a dagger that won’t cut butter. And two pocketknives, one of which won’t cut butter and the other of which has a 2” blade.

No. I couldn’t have the job I have if I did.

The dry skin I can’t persuade to stop being dry.

Outdoors in sunny warm weather.

Waiting for a bus at night in negative-degree windchill. Bus shelters don’t.

Back to France, back to Italy, to Ireland, to the Caribbean…

Yes.

Somewhere close to an ocean.

I tan if I’m careful about it; otherwise I burn. A slight burn will turn to a tan overnight.

Strawberries, sour cream and brown sugar (breakfast).

Sailing, no. Software, yes.

January sometime (black cherry lambic).

I don’t sing in the shower. My water heater is too small to spare the time.

I don’t remember being consistently afraid of anything at night.

Nothing. Well, maybe lint.

My boss’s reaction when, referring to springing huge last-minute projects on me, I said “Do that to me again and I’ll pout.”

37. Best bed sheets you had as a child?
The tan ones with writing-brush pictures of owls on them. The pillowcases had a picture of a sleeping cat on one side and an awake cat on the other.

38. Worst injury you've ever had?
Displaced greenstick fracture of the right humerus. Having bones set HURTS.

Probably one of my cousins.

I have no idea.

I think so, but it took me ages to realize it.

I forgot it was in my pocket and it disintegrated in the wash.

It varies. Right now it’s either The Birth of Venus or The Chronicles of Master Li and Number Ten Ox.

Lately, dark chocolate with pink peppercorns in it. Which is a surprise, because I can usually take or leave dark chocolate.

“I Am Waiting” by Yes.

Something fun.

Sleeping.

50. Do you love the pain a tattoo brings?
Not when I’m getting one; then it annoys me. But getting tattooed is addictive, so I guess I love it a little.
