a rhetorical question

How can you get to be the age I am and still not have a clue about whether or not you're being hit on, unless it's being hit on of the "blinking neon sign and sledgehammer" variety?

I guess that's why I've been single for so long.

It's not all jest when we say Whuffle didn't know I was interested in her until the moment I kissed her!

I have a similar problem. Hell, I've been hit on in the "blinking neon sign and sledgehammer" way, and didn't realize it until literally years later.

In my case, I was always so self conscious about my weight that it just didn't enter my wee little mind that someone would be interested enough in me to actually hit on me. In my case, a lack of self confidence was causing me to not notice when someone was interested.

Paging captain obvious?

Yeah, I'm right there standing in line behind you and juliruge to use the clue payphone... Funny thing, it keeps spitting back my Canadian dimes and quarters...
