odds and ends
I have a very odd brain. The other week I spent $250 on dictionaries and only thought twice about it. I could buy an iPod for $250 and get more use out of it than I will out of the dictionaries, but for some reason, an iPod is a luxury and I can't bring myself to do it. (Besides, an iPod wouldn't tell me that there's no French equivalent for "ice cream headache", which I find very amusing for some reason.)
Theoretically, my phone will no longer accept email and pictures and all that jazz. I got online to see if there was a phone number to call to get rid of the internet service, and found there was an online way to do it. I got a confirmation email saying that they had disabled the option, and we shall see if they actually did it. If they did, the bill will go down by $10 per month.
I have to do laundry this weekend. If I do it tonight, the stuff I can't put in the dryer might be dry by Monday morning.
My grandparents' 60th anniversary party is in two weeks. There are 45 people invited, 23 of whom are family. I can guarantee nobody's going to starve, because it's a DiMartino family gathering and there will be at least three times as much food as necessary; I just hope it doesn't rain, because it's supposed to be a barbecue.
Work is dead today, which is nice. I have things to do, but they aren't horrendously urgent.
