did I order a Monday already?

There was a weekend, and it was good, but it was too damn short, because I haven't been sleeping all that well for the last couple of weeks. After last week I could've used a three-day weekend.

Saturday I went to H&J's wedding, and that was just great. I even made an impromptu speech, because the best man "blamed" me for getting the bride and groom together (long story, the gist of which is I went to grad school and the road trip out there enabled a conversation which enabled the bride and groom to start dating). Anyway, the weather was gorgeous, the bride was beautiful, the groom was handsome, there was good music at the reception, and we all get along with each other.

Yesterday I felt like a zombie all day. I got up and fed Lily and then my brain shut off again. I accomplished grocery shopping, laundry and dishes over the course of the day, but I came home from the grocery store exhausted and did laundry and dishes in between lying around feeling out of energy. I finally gave up the lying around at 9:00 and actually went to bed. I was going to read for a while and then take some OTC sleeping pills so as to stay asleep, but I turned out not to need the pills, which is just as well.

If this is what living with untreated sleep apnea feels like, I really don't want any.

Today I'm somewhat better, although I would rather it were Wednesday. The September SOP meeting is tomorrow afternoon and I want it over with.

Take it from me, go directly to your doctor and demand (don't take no for an answer) a sleep test. I should have had one many years ago. I think I probably had sleep apnea for about 10 years before it was diagnosed. By the time it was finally diagnosed & treated, I was starting to fall asleep when driving.

I don't think I've actually got sleep apnea. It's more of a "wake up for anywhere between ten minutes and an hour, anywhere between 12:30 and 4:30" situation, which has never happened regularly before. I'm just not used to having a cat sleeping on the bed where I tend to kick or otherwise unsettle her when I want to roll over.

ahh, you have Cat apnea, no that's not right. Cat insomnia. Maybe. Cattus sleepus interruptus. Maybe. I hope you both adjust soon.
