marking time until vacation

Imagine if the city had the power to remove the front doors of people who don't shovel their sidewalks. Maybe if they had to shovel out their front hallways, they'd get the idea? (The snowbanks on Union Street are essentially double parked, and both sidewalks at the top of the hill aren't shoveled, so walking in the street is getting to be an exercise in logistics when one car is going uphill and another wants to come down at the same time.)

Tonight, there will be eggnog, and quite possibly movies. I don't know what I'm going to do with the weekend. I'm pretty much stuck in Boston until Monday evening, because my new rug is getting delivered on Monday morning and the large majority of my Amazon order (aka my family's presents) is arriving sometime on Monday. That's what I get for not opting for 2-day shipping from Amazon.

I'm trying to decide whether I want to put my boots back on and walk over to DFCI with this letter I'm supposed to send there ASAP, or whether I want to put it in the campus mail and hope the mailroom doesn't have next week off too. For some reason I just do not like going to DFCI. I'll go deliver things at BIDMC, which is several orders of magnitude worse for getting lost in, before I'll go to DFCI. My brain is very odd sometimes.
