Next week there's going to be a talk here on the dearth of women in science. This is not news. What is news is that the talk is being given by an FtM transsexual.

I thought it was ironic at first, but then I decided it's actually a pretty nifty idea; who better to talk about this than somebody who's been on both sides of it?

Okay that is just too damned cool. When/where is the talk and is it open to the public? That's one I'd like to hear!

It's on Monday at 4:00, in the Fong Auditorium in Boylston Hall. (Never heard of that; is it in your neck of the woods?)

I'm assuming it's open to the Harvard public at least, since the posters don't say anything about registration.
