Another week, another $400 after taxes. Although I'm damned if I know where it's all going, since I seem to have less cumulative money every week. Maybe the billing cycles for some of the various bills I pay have gone screwy. It bears looking into, anyway.

I hope we get another weekend like last weekend, when it was supposed to rain and didn't. I really do want to go to Central Square and walk back to Harvard Square and find out exactly what's in between them, and I can't imagine doing it in the rain would be very much fun. Stores tend to frown on you walking in and dripping water all over their nice clean floors.

STILL nothing from Ohio. Grr, argh, growf. I would ask Liz if she e-mailed that letter yet, except I know she's out of town this weekend and I don't know whether "this weekend" started today or not. No wonder I'm getting grey hairs.

Speaking of hairs, I keep trying to decide whether I should keep spending $80 every six months or so to have my hair cut and re-streaked, or whether I should spend $80 next time to have the streak dyed back to the original color and just get haircuts from now on. I like the streak, and I've had it for eight years now, but I don't like the $80. I also have absolutely no idea what to do with the haircut I got last time. I've never had a layered haircut before. How do you know when it needs trimming? It used to be easy. I got a haircut when the split ends got out of control.

Am I boring you all with the petty details of my so-called life, or should I keep writing?

I'd say find a way to keep the streak; possibly investigate cheaper options for doing it?

Write for yourself, working out your thoughts. Random mundane commentary works for me.

I have fairly mild layers. When I brush my hair, and it just won't lay down flat, it's time for a cut. Four months seems to be as long as I can between cuts.

Ive always been a littel taken by the streak. Except when it got larger and larger. That was a little unnerving, like something was taking over...

Lately, Ive been liking darker hair. And layers, but thats just me. Theyre harder to wrangle, and if its money youre after, hmm, you could get away from the salon for longer, with blunt cuts.

Just thinking...

I'd try life without the streak for a while. I think you'd look good without it.

Besides, if you're starting to get some gray hairs so early, the streak would clash.

I may get smacked upside the head for this, but I think you'll look good with a bit of gray in your hair. You have a "Can't really tell her age" face and most people would assume it was just premature graying.

That said, I've never noticed any gray hair on your head, so I suspect you have a few years yet before it's an issue.

My balding on the other hand...
