Better today. Dad has had his shoulder done (although it took twice as long as the other shoulder, because there were at least two tears and a bone spur in this one), and Grandpa is responding to the antibiotics. They're keeping him in the hospital until he can eat, which right now he can't because of the pancreatitis. But apparently now we're not waiting for him to die, which is what the outlook sounded like yesterday.
In other news, where did this weather come from and why won't it go away? The last time I remember the sun being out was Saturday. And now I have this wonderful new kitchen floor for the Hairy Beasts to sprawl in the sunshine on, and there's no sunshine to sprawl in. (Doesn't bother them; they sleep on the bed if there's no sun. But it bothers me, because I like my vitamin D coming from the sky.)
I got a lesson in why I don't let my iPhone run my life this past weekend. I don't know what the phone was doing all night on Sunday, but it was doing something, because it went from almost fully charged on Sunday afternoon to dead on Monday morning. (I had, of course, left the charger in Boston, because why would I have needed it for one overnight?) But that's why I don't depend on my phone for anything besides phone calls and the grocery list and keeping me entertained on the bus.
Onward and upward, I guess.
