It wound up being:

3 cloves of garlic
cumin
cardamom
paprika
ground cloves
salt
pepper
just enough oil to make it liquid

It's marinating as I type. I'm debating whether I should have put a skosh of vinegar in it too. Oh well, if it needs that I can add it later.
