This is a picture taken from the top of my desk.

The reason Lily is wedged in there like that is because there's a heat vent directly under her.

Then, of course, the flash woke her up )

Shockingly enough, baby gates work a lot better when your doorframes are straight. My office doorframe isn't straight, and Snip (which is the new cat's temporary name, until I figure out the real one) has gotten out twice because the door doesn't shut properly either. I put up the Major Serious Gate That Takes Paint Off The Doorjamb When It Lets Go.

Lily thinks the sky is falling and the world has quite likely come to an end. Particularly because Snip got into the kitchen the first time and met Lily face to face. I don't know where Lily went after the second time, but right now she's under the sofa.

For her part, Snip is almost manic affectionate. When I'm in with her, she won't stop moving for rubbing on me and climbing on me and falling over and purring like a fiend at me. If she'd calm down a bit, I'd get better pictures.

(I think she's less than a year old, based on the size of her feet and the size of her ears. Those are women's size 7 Tevas.)

Chive flowers, at my parents' house, on Memorial Day weekend. I'm not much of a photographer, but I do like this picture.

When I got a cat, I promised myself that I wouldn't flood the internet with pictures of her. However, I took this one by accident just now and every time I look at it, I crack up laughing. Therefore, I present, to the world in general, the Ferocious Beast.

Right, so having finally gotten self, camera, computer and cables all together in the same vicinity...

Proof that Lily exists )

(Apologies; it's hard to take one-handed pictures...)

What one-handed pictures? )

Well, I'm still not sure what's up with the camera, but here are pictures anyway.

Cut for images )

This is Galileo, helping me make my bed, in 2002ish.

In other news, there isn't much other news, except that Tuesday is gonna SUCK. I have to be at the dentist in Cambridge at 7:45 in the morning, which means I have to leave home no later than 6:30. Then I have a committee meeting, and then I have the January SOP meeting (which, thank goodness, is short. I might be home by 5:30, including cleaning up the room and trashpicking the umpteen copies of everything for the post-SOP process.)

Ocean's Twelve may not be as good as Ocean's Eleven, but it seems to be what I was in the mood for today, because I enjoyed it quite a lot.

Still no sign of an apartment inspection, even though it was supposed to happen this weekend.

What's on my mind, in no particular order:

- Running away somewhere for a weekend sometime soonish, and the logistics thereof
- The state of the office, and what losing another person in a couple of months will mean
- Moving in September
- The Phish Food ice cream in the freezer

This one's so much fun, I couldn't resist. This is what happens when you combine three extremely silly people, a digital camera, and two hundred rubber duckies.

New year, new haircut (hasn't been this short since 6th grade), new icon. (This is what I've been waiting since December to get a picture of; I have other pictures I'm playing with too.)

Nothing much else to report.

This is my first attempt at posting pictures.

No headache today. If I'm going to get another one, I'm going to get it tomorrow. Hopefully the one I had yesterday was an echo of one I slept through, because I think what woke me up in the middle of Monday night was a headache.

I don't think I have anything specific to do this weekend. What a lovely idea.
