Sunday, clean slate, etc.
Feb. 20th, 2005 05:21 pmIt spent most of today snowing at me, which shot down my plans for going to the KSU library (I can do that tomorrow morning). I did get to the grocery store, though, when it quit snowing for a while. The bean soup idea worked so well last week that I'm doing it again this week, after which I'll probably be thoroughly tired of bean soup. But it's easy to put together a lot of it on a weekend and eat it for most of the rest of the week afterward, and it means I can eat for several days for about $10, counting other ingredients. (I won't mention the breakfast cereal I also bought, which is more expensive than it really ought to be. Yet another object lesson in Junk Food Is Cheap.)
I spent about an hour on the phone this afternoon talking to my mother's side of the family, most of whom were all gathered for the annual post-Xmas get-together, and most of whom I haven't seen since January 2003. This being the week it was, I called my aunt yesterday thinking that's when the gathering was. Apparently the snow that's here now is supposed to be in New England tomorrow. Anyway, I had a very nice conversation with most of my mother's siblings and their spouses, and a couple of my cousins.
I went to bed at 3:00 this morning, because I just plain wasn't tired until then. I wonder why?
The paper recycling pile next to my desk is about to take over the world again. I ought to just put a box there and throw things in the box instead of on the floor.
Today being Sunday, it's a new week. Time to start over and have a better week than the last one was.
