NPR obviously didn't look out the window this morning. "Light rain" falls straight down and is wet when it hits you. It was snowing. I love my waterproof fleece-lined parka. It even has fleece-lined pockets. I couldn't see whether BU has turned off their fountain yet, but once they do, it's officially winter.

As it turns out, the Mac can't read CDs burned on my work computer, which doesn't really surprise me in the long run. In order to get anything else to talk to Windows, you have to get sneaky. Theoretically, my Mac will do it, but as I don't have a Windows box at all, never mind one I would want to hook up the Mac to, I'm not going to start experimenting.

Chalk up another successful cooking experiment. Between going to Wilson Farms and the party we had last weekend, we're up to our ears in vegetables. Last night, in an attempt to use up some of them, I made stirfry with curry powder and lemongrass and ginger and eight kinds of vegetables (peppers, celery, broccoli, mushrooms, pea pods, tomatoes, chick peas and edamame) and rice noodles. I'm very fond of thin rice noodles; they soak up juice and they only take five minutes to cook, and they make me feel like I'm eating something more substantial than just vegetables.

Listening to people talking on the phone in foreign languages I don't speak is kind of fun. English words keep cropping up in odd places. I'm sure there's a word in Japanese that means "convex", but my boss used the English word for it in the middle of a string of Japanese. Maybe in Japanese it takes longer to say? I don't know.

I had coffee this morning and I still want to hibernate. It's one of THOSE days.
