Jan. 27th, 2003 11:25 amIt was hard getting out of the house this morning. For one thing it was cold out, and for another, the Bloodthirsty Jungle Demons were being cute again. I opened my bedroom door this morning and Galileo shot straight in, followed closely by his sisters (Lupe has been renamed, since neither of us liked that name; we're calling her Bonnie instead, because she is, and because she and her sister do a pretty good Bonnie and Clyde impersonation, ganging up on their brother). The three kittens have definite rules of engagement, it seems. If two of them are wrestling, the third can't join in. The third has to be satisfied with attacking somebody's tail. It doesn't matter whose tail; in a pinch, the third's own tail will do.
Yesterday Hillary's parents came to visit and brought us the table my father made for us. Hooray, now we have a kitchen table we can actually put warm things down on! Anyway, in the course of getting the table through the door, Galileo got out, and I slammed my shoulder on the table trying to catch him, so I have a rather nifty bruise.
So here I am, at work, with an uncloseable office door. The lock got broken over the weekend and we think somebody tried to break in. Nothing's missing, fortunately, but while that lock is broken, I can't leave the office during business hours. Every time I've gone out for some reason when the lock doesn't work or the door is propped open, something disappears from the office. Fortunately there's a seminar today, which means lunch is being delivered.
Oy. Must be Monday. There goes the phone again.
