Last night in the theory discussion part of class, we got into a bit of an argument about universals. Every culture has a concept of love, but they differ so widely that you can (and we did) debate whether you can say that love is really a universal concept or not. The answer is, of course, that it depends. In my case, it depends on how much of a knot you want to tie your brain in thinking about it, but my general answer is yes, it is universal. You just have to look hard enough to find out how.

Today it's absolutely beautiful out. The guys who are putting the roof on the newest house across the street are doing it without shirts on. (Yes, I noticed. I'm not blind, after all. :) For some reason it always seems to take less time to do errands in good weather, or maybe I just don't mind being outdoors as much. I got laundry and grocery shopping done today already.

Shame on me for forgetting to bring wasabi to Ohio, and shame on the grocery store for not having any oyster sauce. It's hard to have broccoli and oyster sauce without that. They've got four kinds of teriyaki sauce, and three kinds of stirfry sauce, and peanut sauce, duck sauce and "dipping sauce", and no oyster sauce. Oh well. I guess it'll have to be broccoli-mushroom-green bean stirfry instead (and no, I didn't buy any stirfry sauce).

My federal tax refund showed up in the mail today. Yeeha! Incoming money I don't have to pay anyone back for!
