Some random observations:

MacStitch X is a really nifty program in some respects, and sucks pondwater in others. It hasn't figured out how to get out of cut and paste and back to regular design mode yet, and when you get around to printing, you have the choice of printing color blocks and running your printer out of ink, or printing symbols and having to go after the pattern with colored pencils so you can see what goes where (the symbols come out just a tad small most of the time.) I think the programmers mostly intended the program to be used to scan pictures and turn them into patterns. Since I don't have a scanner, I was doing all the design work myself. Doing it by computer definitely beats doing the whole pattern by hand on graph paper, though.

Last night I had the first flying dream I've had in years. This one was slightly odd in that it started out with my being afraid of falling off a staircase with several missing steps. Usually when I start flying, I've been running and I suddenly realize I'm not running on the ground any more. This time I somehow managed to get off the stairs, and the flying came later, when I was standing still. I hadn't had a dream I didn't want to wake up from in quite a while, but that was one of them.

I should get going on the cooking I have to do today. I've got broccoli I really should use up, and chicken I bought yesterday and want to cook so I can use it in other things. So, off I go to be domestic.
