Sep. 6th, 2004 03:08 pmToday being Labor Day, I thought it would be a good day to do laundry. I forgot that since classes started last week, that means everybody's back and doing laundry. I did manage to get everything done expediently, but I also had to explain to two different people how the dryers work and gave one set of directions to the local non-Kinko's copy shop. (Kinko's is two doors down from the laundromat; anyone who comes into the laundromat wanting directions to Kinko's needs more help than just directions.)
I'm trying to decide which project I want to do first: St. Sylvestre or Bagatelle. I discovered last semester that having something to work on when I can't stand anything academic any more is a very good idea (and gives me something to do at the laundromat, besides). My brain, in its infinite helpfulness, is saying I should get both patterns and decide after that which one I want to buy supplies for. The other side of that argument is the side of my brain that says it's enjoying not thinking about the cost of groceries any more and wants to keep that up, so I should buy one pattern or the other. Just because I have money doesn't mean I have to spend it.
My computer seems prone to giving me the Spinning Beachball of Death lately. I'm not sure whether it's complaining about having Firefox and Safari installed at the same time and both used, or whether it had to do with the fact that the trial version of Macaroni expired and it wasn't doing system maintenance any more. Both of those things happened at about the same time. I registered Macaroni, so that's happy again. If it's a Firefox and Safari problem, I'm stuck with it, because there are a couple of sites Safari will load that Firefox won't. The only other thing I can think of is that I tried to rip a CD that iTunes didn't like, and that might have had more consequences than I thought. (Although why in the hell anybody bothered to put copy protection on a Kingston Trio CD is beyond me.)
Right. Anyway. I should go put the laundry away.
