ouch

I got through a very rough draft of all of the psychology study (I only needed the first half of it for today, but I figured I'd get it out of the way). Ouch. I really, truly do not like statistics. At least I can prove that Cronbach's alpha exists in English, and I was right about "corrected item-total correlation" even though I haven't got the foggiest idea what it means. I spent about an hour hunting for parallel texts this morning. They were easier to find than I thought they'd be, mostly because Kent subscribes to a couple of highly useful journals.

In the "Hey, Idiot" category, don't try to eat an apple outdoors in late September if you don't want to attract wasps.

I'm still waiting for a couple of interlibrary loan articles for my case study. I think the ones I've got now are too old. I can't imagine anything published in 1995 hasn't been translated by now (and I could probably make the same argument for anything up to 2003).

Time is doing weird things again. Midterms are before Thanksgiving, and Thanksgiving is after the election, and the election is after the ATA meeting, and the ATA meeting is in two weeks. All of those things make sense together, but thinking about them separately I keep thinking about how much I have to get done before they get here. And I really don't want to be thinking about midterms yet, because I've got enough going on now. At least I only have two midterms and one is a take-home translation project.

I really wish I could just download the entire contents of my brain into an external device, defragment it, delete anything redundant and/or out of date, upload it again and be less annoyed with the things I don't need to remember that keep sneaking in. Such as radio commercials from middle school.

If I didn't know it would be a bad idea, I'd go take a nap for an hour or so.
