tutoring: nobody showed up. I got a very rough first draft of my first CLD (Commercial, Legal and Diplomatic Translation) assignment done, and came home to an e-mail from the tutoring director asking me if we couldn't move my Wednesday hours up to 12-4 instead of 1-5. Which suits me fine, so I said Why not?

snow: still here. Most of my walk to campus is over questionably cleared sidewalks, and all the snow has been kicked around and mixed with sand so much that it's all loose and mostly slippery. Every time I take a step, I go sideways before I go forward. Hard on the ankles, that.

taxes: hit a snag. I have to call the financial aid office about why the "federal tax withheld" box on the W2 is completely blank and doesn't even have 0.00 in it.

lunch: almond butter and blueberry jam sandwich. A bit of a mess, but tasty. Due to only buying bread and milk last week due to snow, there's nothing much else to eat around here.

case study: PDF files have been converted to RTF files, so Trados or SDLX will actually talk to them. Still waiting for VirtualPC so I can play with SDLX demo version at home. Terminology will have to be done in Trados, I think. Starting that this week.

ARGH!

Microsoft.

Virtual PC 7.0.1 for Mac, to be precise.

It installed itself, and then restarted the computer, like it said it was going to. Then when it went to do setup, it suddenly can't find the installation CD. The computer knows it's there, but the program doesn't. So now every time I restart the computer, or shut it down and start it up again,VirtualPC asks for its installation CD, which the computer loads, and the setup program then proceeds to ignore. Or I just tell it not to bother, and then Virtual PC goes away and I can do other things.

ARGH!

And no linen in the mail today either. My inner brat is all about instant gratification and is HIGHLY displeased.

ROWRBAZZLE!
