I had mixed success with the XML file yesterday. I tried importing it into Excel, which actually did give me a way to look at the list of terms, but didn't import any of the definitions, contexts or images. It imported the field names, but not their contents. So I tried exporting from MultiTerm into HTML, which gave me a beautifully readable table, containing absolutely nothing but the terms in alphabetical order by language (so the French side didn't match up with the English side). I guess I'm stuck with MultiTerm.

However, I did get the information I wanted out of the XML file. I have 62 terms, which means I can knock 12 of the more obvious ones off (dopamine happens to be dopamine in French, too) and populate the new ones I put in from my last draft of translating, and call it done. (Although why I need to find a definition for "childhood-onset" is beyond me; the term is self-explanatory, no?)

Then we had an hour and a half of project management lecture, and then two and a half hours of group meeting in which we discovered that practically everything we did last meeting and turned in was wrong. So we fixed that, and parceled out the bits of the presentation we have to make next week, which is basically role-playing and trying to sell our proposal to a fictional client. I've never been any good at selling things, and I can't act my way out of a paper bag, so this is in the category of "just let's get it over with, all right?". Fortunately it's only a 15-minute presentation, and there are five of us, so my part is only three minutes long. I'm supposed to be presenting the "problem" our fictional client came to our fictional translation agency to address. (Mostly, I'm explaining why they want a web site in five languages.)

Today should be laundry day, because if it isn't, I'll have to do laundry tomorrow, and doing laundromat laundry on a weekend in a small college town is a bit of a pain. There was something else I wanted to (as opposed to have to) do today, too; I wonder what it was?
