May. 21st, 2005 12:33 pmIt occurred to me the other day that I left my umbrella at the party I went to last Saturday night. It was my Oberlin umbrella, which I'd had for at least eight years. This thoroughly random fact came up when I looked at the weather forecast for Tuesday and discovered it's going to rain. (I seem to remember it raining the last time I flew out of Akron, too.) I'm tempted to go buy a KSU umbrella, so at least people won't mistake me for a BC grad any more. Oberlin and BC have the same colors.
Yesterday was not my day for insects. I think there's a yellow jacket nest somewhere around my patio, or the four that were out there yesterday were scouting for a place to establish a nest. I didn't get stung, but it's very distracting trying to read when they're hovering around your head. I gave up and sat on the doorstep instead, and then later I had the encounter with the spider on the kitchen counter.
I should start my list of stuff not to forget to remember to pack.
