and so it goes

For those of y'all who care, and who don't know it yet, myself and my stuff are back in Boston safely, mostly due to the driving and truck-packing skills of scirocco and partly due to the box-packing skills of yours truly.

I have a functional bathroom, a functional bedroom, three-quarters of a functional living room (although I think I want to rearrange it entirely) and two-thirds of a functional kitchen. I also have ten-foot ceilings, so I need to get ahold of a fairly large ladder in order to have a discussion with the overhead light in the living room, which contains three of the wimpiest light bulbs I've encountered in ages. (Not to mention the fact that it's track lighting, and all the lights are pointing in the wrong directions.) And I need a stepladder in order to put anything in the kitchen cabinets, because they're all too high up for me. I still have no internet service at home, because Comcast is mired in a labyrinthine voice mail system. I'll get through it eventually, though.

I'm going to have to have a housewarming for this place. One of these days I should decide when I want to do that, and whether I want to combine it with my birthday. My parents are paying lip service to coming up on Sunday to see the new place and to do something about my birthday, but it's not set in stone yet.

My interview yesterday went. I don't know if it went well or not, but they told me that I'll know by Monday morning at the latest whether or not they'll offer me the job. I honestly have no idea whether I'll get it or not.
