Last week sucked pond water. Fortunately it's a new week now, so hopefully it will be better. The weekend was already better; on Saturday I got to be social and play with dry ice (which playing I never got to do as a kid), and on Sunday I went to the quilt exhibit at the MFA with several other people and had a good time doing that too. After I got home from that, I ended up going out between thunderstorms to pick up half a drugstore's worth of stuff I was running out of, such as shampoo and disinfectant for my contact lenses and several other things of that nature. I missed getting rained on by about five minutes. (Not that I would have minded getting rained on, because it's fun to do that when you don't have to be presentable afterward or be stuck in wet clothes afterward, but it's fun to be able to yell "YOU MISSED!" at a torrential downpour, too.)

Depending on what I get done today and whether I have to wait to get things done tomorrow, I might be spending most of the rest of the week visiting my grandparents, finally (and going swimming). That would be nice, although it would be nicer if the sun came out. The weather-forecast extension I have for Firefox thinks it's hazy out, but I personally call it overcast. And it's actually cold, although since I'm hanging around in my summer nightshirt, I'm prejudiced. (Ah, yes, the weather just reloaded and now agrees with me that it's raining.)

Time to get myself put together for the day.
