zap, brr, bleargh, so there and hmm
Sep. 30th, 2005 10:25 amOK, it is now officially fall. I should have known that when I got zapped by the office door handle yesterday; fall is the beginning of electric shock season. From now until about April, every time I touch a car door, I have a better-than-50% chance of getting zapped. (I could really live without that aspect of electrical sensitivity. I get zapped by EVERYTHING in the winter, including laundry.)
Last night it took me until sometime after 1:30 to fall asleep, because I was cold. I know it was after 1:30, because that's when I gave up and put on socks, sweatpants and a heavier shirt. I hate sleeping in too many clothes, but I also know that I can't fall asleep if I'm cold.
Minor triumph: yesterday I managed to get from work to Harvard Square in 55 minutes, which meant I got to be the last person in the T pass line before the window closed at 6:00. I know there are places closer to Roxbury that sell T passes, but Harvard is the closest one that takes credit cards. Since I never did get around to it on Tuesday, I went up to Porter afterward and had ramen for dinner.
Tomorrow I have to wash the glass on the patio door so I can see through it when it's closed, and have it out with the bedroom window that won't shut. I got the living room window that wouldn't shut dealt with the other night.
Well, now I know that I'm not staying at this job; I just got a call from my replacement. I don't know when she's starting, though; it could be next week, or the week after next. In any case I probably won't find out until Monday, because the hiring manager is out today and therefore can't call the temp agency. Sigh. Next?
I'm sorely tempted to go see Serenity tonight, but I don't know that that's such a good idea. I don't think today is a good day for me to try to put up with a movie theater full of militant Browncoats. (Who am I kidding? By tonight the militant ones will have seen it twice already.)
