I managed to get two things done yesterday. One was laundry, and the other was the end of the embroidering with blending filament. I suppose if you were using it with regular floss it would be better, but two strands of it by itself is Not Fun. For one thing, it's so thin that it's invisible from the side, and for another, it's mostly metallic, but it's got these horrendously fine little black threads in with it, and when those get snagged, they crumple up the metallic stuff and turn into black fuzz all over the place. Anyway, done with it now, thank goodness.

Today being trash day, I have my kitchen floor back again because the recycling bags have gone. Now all I have to do is figure out what to do with all those apples. Despite reminding myself that I shouldn't get carried away with the apple-picking, I got carried away anyhow. Oops. I think it's somewhat the nature of the beast, though.

Tomorrow looks like nasty weather to go to interviews in. I don't mind fall as long as the weather isn't cold, damp and cloudy all the time. Apparently that's what we're going to get until Thursday. (If I wanted English weather, I'd go live in England!)

Having cleaned out my fridge, there's nothing much in it. I should probably fix that. Besides, I'm out of Cheerios again.

I went to the grocery store to get some more Cheerios and was struck by an urge to make soup. So I ended up buying Cheerios, but also buying chicken and diced tomatoes and white kidney beans and celery and an onion. (I leave the onion in big enough pieces to dispose of it when I'm done making soup stock.)

So, soup. I'm debating what all else I want to put in it, and whether I want soup for dinner tonight. I had lunch for breakfast and dinner for lunch, so I suppose to even things out I should have breakfast for dinner.

Right, well, never mind. Pull out soup pot and cutting board and yell CHARGE! (and remember, too late, that knife sharpening really should've happened yesterday too).
