The Harvard interview went well. It was in fact for the specific position for which I applied, and I ended up spending half an hour with the generic HR person and an hour with the department-specific HR person. Sometime during the week after next, I meet with the Dean, the Assistant Dean and the other person I'd be working for, all at once (or at least all on the same day). It would be sooner, except the Assistant Dean is on vacation next week and has already filled up this week's calendar in consequence.

There's got to be an easier way to get from Brigham Circle to Longwood Ave than the one I took, which involved a lot of hiking around the backs of hospital buildings and not getting run over by two separate very large laundry service trucks, both of which were backing up. I think it might help if the lower end of Francis St wasn't munged up with constructing a building. Well, in any case, I got some decent exercise.

I forgot how much of a pain in the fingers (and the eyeballs) beading needles are. At least there are three places that call for large beads, and I can use a regular embroidery needle for those. The beads do add something to the overall splendiferousness of this particular piece, though, so I really can't leave some of them off. (Is "splendiferousness" a legal word in English, or did I just invent it?)

For $3 apiece, I suppose I can't complain about the fragility of "slightly irregular" nylons. I do, however, complain when they shred themselves while I'm wearing them.
