Must be Monday again
Mar. 27th, 2006 11:47 amFlying is somewhat less fun than it used to be. The days of being able to get up and stretch if the seatbelt sign is off are gone, and if you happen to get hungry, you should have thought of that before you left. (Except that the gate you're leaving from is never convenient to anyplace to buy anything more nourishing than Altoids, or if it is, you don't have time. I really wanted to buy some food in Dallas, but I only had fifteen minutes between the time I got there and the time they put us on the plane to Boston.)
However, having said that, flying is still the best way to get across the country.
I wonder how difficult it would be to get the Massachusetts Medical Interpreters Association interested in giving seminars to Harvard, Tufts, BU, etc., medical students on how to work with interpreters?
Nothing in my office blew up while I was gone, but it's working on it now. I'm looking at the third reschedule of a committee meeting I had already had set in stone twice (the first time, the committee chair discovered a previous commitment, and now one of the other committee members who can't be at the second incarnation and won't do it by conference call has gotten miffed about it). Good thing I hadn't booked a room for the second try.
Apparently my new refrigerator is showing up tomorrow or so, but the old one is departing tonight. I don't want to have to deal with this, dammit, I want to go home and get in some trombone practice before my lesson, and then go to my lesson, and come home, and go to bed. Between the time-zone juggling, the conference-related stress I'm recovering from, and the work-related stuff, I'm tired.
