Thursday, difficult enough to be Monday
Jun. 8th, 2006 10:32 amIt really isn't a good idea to have the traffic lights at Tremont St. and Columbus Ave. be out in both directions at 8:30 in the morning on the day of Harvard Medical School graduation, and have nobody there directing traffic. How there hadn't been an accident yet when I got there is beyond me, as is how I got across the intersection in both directions without anybody trying to run me over.
Whoever set up my current problem-child committee didn't do me any favors. I've tried 21 different meeting dates since March, and none of them have worked, because at least two of the eight people are out of town, in the OR, at thesis defenses, or otherwise not willing to make themselves available on any given date. I can't schedule a meeting if more than one person isn't available. The thing that makes me laugh (because otherwise I'll cry) is that this is only a clinical appointment. Most clinical appointments don't require committees, but I guess this one did, and as of last week it's officially the most difficult committee I've ever dealt with. I'd love to drop this on somebody who has the authority to say "look, this is the meeting date and you WILL be available", but everybody else who could do that is too busy.
It's Thursday. I thought last week was long, but this week has gone on for about five years already. The weather is Not Helping. I want to be able to take the huge comforter off the bed and wash it and put it away, and I keep taking it off the bed and having to put it back on before I ever get around to washing it.
