random thoughts of little interest
Aug. 14th, 2006 09:39 amTin foil is your friend, if you happen to want to cover something you're cooking in a large frying pan that never had a lid to begin with. However, I have yet to learn how to deal with broccoli in stirfry; it always ends up slightly overcooked, and the flowers fall off.
Today is my mother's birthday, which fact I completely forgot until half an hour ago. Oops.
Five more days (counting today) and I'm on vacation.
I spent most of yesterday afternoon across the street at the community-garden party. It was a pretty good way to spend a Sunday afternoon, for want of a hammock. If I had owned a hammock, a crowbar would have been required to get me out of it yesterday.
I guess I should start making a list of things I think I can't live without next week, and attempt to remember to buy sunscreen. (Someday they'll invent sunscreen I don't hate. I know it's necessary, but it's definitely evil. I always feel like I've been rolled in bacon grease.)
The list of things I have to do today isn't inspiring me to do any of them.
