brain go blam
Sep. 21st, 2006 11:16 amI knew it was Thursday, but I forgot that Thursday is database design meeting day. Brain now full of database elements.
Brain is also dealing with a committee which, as far as I can tell, is using the M.C. Escher drawing with all the staircases, twisted into a Moebius strip, as a procedural checklist. Suffice it to say that there are four separate lists of people involved in any committee, and they aren't supposed to overlap at all. This committee has managed to overlap all four of them, such that somebody from list 1 is also on list 2, somebody from list 3 is also on lists 1 and 4, and somebody from list 2 is also on list 3. So every time I have to figure out what goes where, I get a headache, and then I have to explain it all to whoever it is who has a problem with it this time. All of the things that are wrong predate my having this job, so there's nothing I can really do about it.
Oh, and the October SOP meeting is falling out from under me, because people keep insisting on being out of town.
And the mice have outsmarted me again; they ate the peanut butter off the Cheerios I had tied to the traps, without setting the traps off. I should be smarter than the bloody mice, dammit!
Can I PLEASE have something simple to deal with today?
