According to my father, the time-honored way to deal with mouseholes is to nail a can lid over them. I liked that idea better than getting expanding foam or caulking all over everywhere (which, considering that this is me we're talking about here, is probably what would have happened.) For the sake of not putting any more holes in the wall, I used duct tape instead of nails. So now the bottom of the pipe chase in which the hole is is probably full of Brillo, and the hole has a can lid over it. (There's a nice handy gap between the wall and the baseboard for the can lid to sit in, too.)

I've got my particular version of The List down to five committees I'm actively trying to schedule and another three to start shuffling in as I shuffle the other ones out. The List of all active committees is 60-odd items long, and about a third of those are coming to SOP in the next couple of months. Apparently when we hire the people we're looking for right now, I get to hand off the entire post-SOP process to them, which will not be a bad thing. When we hire the new people, we're going to have to move out of our current space, because right now we have absolutely no place to put anybody unless we hang them off the ceiling in harnesses.

So yes, I'm busy, and I think I might be trying not to get sick. I've spent most of the last couple of weeks feeling like five miles of bad road. TGIF, tomorrow, and what took it so long?
