Oct. 30th, 2006 06:17 pmI spent this morning in a benefits seminar which, unlike the one at orientation, actually stuck in my head. (The problem with the orientation one is that they sit you down in the morning, run you through all this orientation, feed you lunch and THEN talk about benefits, at which point you've been oriented so much that you're disoriented, and you want to go to sleep.)
Anyway, there was pizza afterward, and now I'm sort of killing time until 1:45, at which point I have to set up for a meeting. And then I have to set up a conference call. We're trying something new in terms of scheduling meetings, which is to get everybody's assistants on the phone at once and schedule a final committee meeting. Unfortunately it's six of one and half a dozen of the other for me, because I still have to get umpteen people on the phone at the same time. (And not everybody has an assistant, either, so I have to follow up with them afterward. Sigh.)
When I get home tonight, I have to pay rent and pay bills and arrange to do laundry, because I can't go to New Orleans on Wednesday without any clean socks. At least now I have a genteel sufficiency of airport books. (Why are airport bookstores always awful?)
A less rhetorical question: has anybody reading this seen The Prestige, and is it worth seeing?
