is it Friday yet?
Nov. 15th, 2006 12:20 pmI don't actually want it to be Friday, mostly because I have an eye appointment on Friday and I don't want to deal with the whole "go back to work with dilated eyes and try to accomplish anything" process. (To say nothing of what happens if they decide I need to get one eye or the other lasered again, which means I won't be at work until lunchtime. I don't think I need both eyes lasered, but if it turns out that I do, I'm not going to work at all on Friday.)
All of which reminds me, for no particular reason, that I really need my teeth cleaned.
Work this week is making my hair hurt. Because we get Thursday and Friday next week off, all my timelines have been screwed up and I have to send out the Nov 28 SOP materials AND a Dec 1 committee's materials on Monday. Which means I have to get the SOP materials reviewed today so I can send them to be copied, so I don't slam the copy service with everything and want it back in two days. Which is what's going to happen, because P&R is in my way again. GRR.
On top of that, I have two committees that want to meet yesterday. One of them could have met on the 27th, except that the chair acquired a previous commitment, so I had to try December. Nothing in December worked, so now I'm looking at January and the committee chair's assistant is annoyed with me. Fortunately, somebody with more clout than I have is going to deal with that one. The other committee that wants to meet yesterday is getting ahead of itself, because it doesn't have all of its letters back yet. I've got permission to sit on that one.
I have to go grocery shopping tonight, and with any luck at all, I'll be able to do a load of laundry. (Yet another reason to move in September, if I haven't mentioned it yet.) Some day I should just write out the master list of reasons to move, and see what exactly is on it. That way if I can't move back to Union St., I'll at least know what to look for elsewhere.
Anybody else been bitten by the creative bug in the last week, or is it just me? Suddenly I want to be writing, or embroidering, or designing embroidery, almost all the time.
