Apparently Columbia Pictures was shooting some movie scenes in the medical school quad today. Of course, there was a fairish bit of gawking out windows going on in the office.

Anyway, the two things I observed are as follows:

1. They had way too many extras. There are never that many people standing around on the quad, and particularly never that many people in entirely black street clothes standing around on the quad in random groups which have pole-vaulted over the idea of "random" and are now "carefully arranged to be random, but are completely obviously placed where they are".

2. Whatever they were filming takes place in the fall. To that end, they had to attach some fake foliage to the naked trees that were already there. I happened to look out the window at one point and saw somebody with both arms full of artificial fall foliage wandering across the way. If it's possible for trees to look confused, they certainly did look confused by the time the set dressers were done with them.

Silly people. I don't envy them being out there at 6:00 this morning running cable, though.

Between the movies outdoors and the moving indoors (the admissions office, which was next door to us, went up to their new space today), it's been quite an odd day.
