I'm back, mostly. I still haven't got the router working, but I think I might know what's wrong with it. Apparently somewhere on the settings page there's something you have to set for Wireless, and I didn't, so I think if I hook up the modem to the router and the router to the computer with ethernet cables, I might be able to get back into the settings and look for (and hopefully change) the right thing. (Run-on sentence much?)

Anyway, when I left last week I went to Falmouth and stayed there Saturday-Thursday. Saturday and Sunday were cold, cloudy and windy, so going to the beach was less fun than it might have been. However, Monday through Thursday were gorgeous, and I went swimming and built the obligatory sand castle and dug random holes for no reason and annoyed hermit crabs by picking them up, and found two separate scallop shells the size of my hand.

On Thursday, I was planning to come back to Boston and do laundry and get sorted out and head for CT. Didn't happen quite that way, though, because I ended up taking a bus from Falmouth to Providence. Dad came and got me in Providence and I stayed in Noank through yesterday.

I mostly hung around on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday morning I helped Dad tear the clapboards off from above the back porch, which is the last piece of the house that needs new clapboards. That was fun, because it was manual labor (which I don't do a lot of) involving demolition (which I didn't have to be too careful about). Besides, old cedar clapboards split very nicely. By the time we were done, it was getting hot on the porch roof, and it was lunchtime anyway. After lunch and a trip to the dump with the detritus, we all took my aunt and uncle sailing around the harbor, and then had dinner with various people. Fun was had by all, as far as I know.

Yesterday we all seem to have decided it was naptime in the morning, and then went sailing again once the wind decided which direction it was happy with. I don't know that I'll ever be a good sailor because I don't really care to understand the physics of it, but I really like being a passenger.

I suppose if I'm going to argue with the router again, I had better post this so I can go argue with the router again.

My cat, who is nameless so far, is here and has spent the last couple of hours becoming one with my shower curtain. Every time I look in there, she's gone further under it. Hopefully she'll be more inclined to come out later.
