sound and fury accomplishing nothing

I'm shockingly tranquil today, considering I'm on the fourth and fifth rounds of looking for SOP reviewers for five different meetings. Everybody's got an excuse not to review for meetings in April. My favorite excuse for not having a meeting at all yet involves a committee chair whose son-in-law is going up on the next space shuttle, which doesn't have a definite launch date yet, and since the committee chair is going to Florida for the launch, he can't tell us when we can have the meeting yet. I must admit that's a good one.

So anyway, I've asked twelve different people to be reviewers for any one of five different meetings, and so far I have one yes for one meeting, one maybe for another meeting, five no for any of the meetings, and five nonresponses. It wouldn't be so bad if the first of the meetings wasn't next Tuesday. (But I'm not here next Tuesday, so if I can't find a reviewer by the end of Friday, it will be Somebody Else's Problem on Monday.)

On days when I'm not shockingly tranquil, I wish I had room for a makiwara in here.
