it's alive, but not terribly exciting
Oct. 6th, 2008 09:11 amIt was a pretty good weekend, although I can't figure out why my body decided I only needed five hours of sleep on Saturday. Went to bed at 2:00 Saturday morning and was wide awake again at 7:30. (By the way, the anxiety dreams can stop any day now. So far Lily's been buried by waves on a beach and I had to dig for her, my sister's cat has wandered off while I was supposed to be taking care of him, and I've had two other dreams I don't remember except that they weren't any fun at all.)
I'm not going to get the wedding embroidery done for this weekend, but I've got the best "the dog ate my homework"-type excuse ever. I did a lot of work on the embroidery over the weekend, though. And a little work on the excuse, too. I've decided to bring the needle in its specimen cup and a picture of Snip and tell them that this is why I don't have their wedding present done yet.
Of course it's going to be 70 again at the end of the week; I shut the storm windows this weekend because the heat came on in the middle of the day, and my thermostat is still set for summer. It's staying there through October, and then I'll admit defeat. I wonder if the price of fuel oil is anything like the price of gas lately? Last year gas went up and down, but fuel oil only ever went up.
On a cheerier note, the leftover fish and tomatoes from Thursday were really good lunch for two days. Mercury be damned, I think I'll have to start buying more fish.
