I'm torn between voting tomorrow morning, when there won't be much of a line at 7:15 if I can get there that early, and voting tomorrow night, when the line will probably be out the door but I won't be worrying about getting to work on time. So far I'm coming down on the side of "go after work, but bring a very long book".

My ex-Marine neighbor, who decorates his front yard for every commercial or patriotic holiday, broke out the six-foot illuminated inflatable skull with the inflatable purple spiders on it again. At least this year he didn't leave it up for the entire week before Halloween. Last year it was a little creepy to have to walk past it every night on the way home.

I wish they had allergy tests for cats the way they do for people. If somebody could tell me exactly what protein source Snip is allergic to, I could probably get out of having to buy cat food exclusively from the vet (for about $5 per pound) for the next 13 years or so.

Next week is going to be interesting, in the midweek-holiday-followed-immediately-by-jury-duty sort of way. November is starting out as a very civic-minded month.
